WINGSHOOTING / Estancia Ameghino
Buenos Aires Province, Argentina
"Once again a magnificent hunt. I have been hunting in Argentina for over twenty years, and you have clearly established yourself as one of the very best outfitters. What sets you apart is your knowledge of hunting coupled with an extraordinary attention to all details! I look forward to our next return trip. Thank you for your friendship."

Estancia Ameghino is one of Argentina’s premier duck hunting destinations. Situated within the largest grain producing area of Argentina, this region is the world’s best kept secret for waterfowl shooting. This wonderful Argentine estancia is the perfect setting to experience superb decoyed duck shooting.
The Hunting
Ideally located in the fertile Pampa region in the province of Buenos Aires, Estancia Ameghino is home to an incredible duck population. Many of our hunts take place on the numerous potholes and lagoons that surround the property. Increased rainfall over the past 15 years in this region along with extensive grain production have created ideal waterfowl conditions by providing hundreds of potholes that serve as feeding and roosting areas. With a maximum transfer time of 50 minutes from lodge to blind, clients enjoy longer hunts and more reasonable wake-up times than what other operations may offer. The areas around Estancia Ameghino support a wide variety of duck species which allows for an all-inclusive mixed bag hunt. We utilize the best equipment to maximize your hunting experience and are constantly striving to improve our methods.
Non-shooting guests have the option of participating in various activities such as horseback riding, bird-watching, and shopping.
Lodge
All guests stay in the main home of Estancia Ameghino. A typical Argentine estancia, the recently renovated lodge lies in the heart of duck country. The warm and inviting house has five spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms, accommodating up to 8 hunters at a time. Most of the bedrooms have fireplaces. Long days in the field are typically followed by relaxing in the two large living rooms by the fireplace which offer the perfect medium for exchanging hunting stories, sipping cocktails, and enjoying a fine cigar. The house also has comfortable game room with a pool table and DirecTV television. Phone and high speed internet connections are available for guests’ use. Our excellent chef prepares delicious international dishes, accompanied by fine Argentine wines. Fresh game is served on a regular basis as well as the famed Argentine asado (BBQ).
