FISHING / Tipiliuke
Framed by rivers Chimehuín and Quilquihue, Estancia Tipiliuke offers anglers a wide stretch for world class
fly fishing experience. Tipiliuke is set in the Andean
foothills and is a fully working estancia with a very significant cattle operation.
The lodge is located in the centre of the property
and has 9 bedrooms with private bathrooms, a living
room, a dining room and a cozy bar. There are also
two private houses, Casa Pablo and Casa Mayal, the
former has 3 bedrooms, the latter has 5. The lodge
has a special garden within the park of the main
Estancia. There are about 200 species of different
trees from all over the world, acquired and planted
during three generations of the family.
Everything is arranged for fly fisherman to have
an unforgettable stay including professional guides,
vehicles, riverside lunches, and spectacular fly fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout on the ranch’s private access to the famous Chimehuin River which flows through the property.
Fishing times vary depending on month and climate.
A typical spring fishing day will start in the morning
with fishing from 8:00 to 12:30, returning to the
lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon of fishing
from 3:30 to 7:30. The afternoon session starts later
during the months of December and January to take advantage
of the magical dusk fishing hours.
Tipiliuke is a strictly CATCH AND RELEASE fishery.
Guides are equipped with nets and will assist guests in
weighing and releasing fish without harming them.
There are direct flights from Aeroparque (Ba local
airport) or a 2hr flight to San Martín de los Andes,
where you will be received and driven to the estancia
(10 minutes). Tipiliuke can also be reached from
Bariloche by car (3 hours drive) or by air (30 minutes
flight - only private flights for Bariloche / Chapelco
airport leg).
